Accused Grandfather: "Don't tell anyone what I did to you"
A TWEED Coast man who will stand trial over the alleged sexual assault of his three step-granddaughters also allegedly warned the girls not to reveal secrets about the encounters.
"Don't tell anyone what I did to you, or I'll hurt you," the man allegedly said.
The 61-year-old is on bail and cannot be named for legal reasons.
He is yet to enter a plea and will be tried on 11 charges including indecent assault of a person under 16, sexual intercourse without consent and sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 10.
The charges relate to alleged incidents between 2010 and 2013 at the man's Tweed Coast home, at Pottsville and at the Gold Coast theme park Sea World.
Between January 1 2010, and December 31, 2011 at his Tweed Coast home it is alleged the man had sexual intercourse with a girl who was then nine.
In 2010 it is alleged the man put his hand down the front of a 10-year-old girl's underpants for 10 minutes during a show at Sea World.
Police facts tendered before the court stated he put his hands inside the underpants of a 10-year-old girl in 2011, and put the hands of 10 and 11-year-old girls down his pants and on his penis in 2012.
Magistrate David Heilpern continued the man's bail and ordered him to appear in Lismore District Court in February where he will be committed to stand trial.
