TV chippy to appear at Ballina expo

ADAM Dovile, from television's Better Homes and Gardens, will be a special guest at the second annual Home Sweet Home Expo in Ballina on August 1.

The chippie won season two of House Rules with his now wife Lisa last year.

Adam has a wealth of building expertise garnered from operating his own successful construction company for the past seven years.

He credits his carpentry career to an unlikely mentor. In high school he loved working with his hands and enjoyed doing work experience with a mechanic.

It was the mechanic's advice that changed Adam's career path.

"He said to me, 'Is there anything you love just as much as mechanics?' I responded: 'Carpentry'.

The Home Expo will include plenty of exhibitors and activities. You can learn the basics of interior design with Patricia Di Tullio. She will provide tips on personalising your space, blending existing pieces with new purchases and de-cluttering.

The Home Sweet Home Expo will be held at the Ballina Homemaker Centre on August 1.
