Turf club acts on poor drainage

POOR track drainage at the Lismore Turf Club will soon be fixed in the hope that scheduled race meetings over the next couple of months will not get washed out.

Two sections of the track about 400 metres long have been affected by poor drainage.

Lismore Turf Club has already lost one TAB meeting this year, on January 28, because of rain and drainage prob-lems.

After being inspected by an expert turf maintenance company, the club has applied for money from the Country Racecourse Development Fund to install a combination of sub-soil and sand groove drainageto fix the trouble areas.

The club will host its next TAB meeting on March 5.
