Truss part of delegation meeting with Chinese officials

NATIONALS Leader and Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss is part of a Coalition delegation meeting with Chinese government officials this week.

Deputy Opposition Leader Julie Bishop is leading the delegation and has been joined by senators George Brandis, David Johnston and Nigel Scullion.

It is Australia's first high-level political delegation to visit China since its change of leadership a little over two weeks ago. The visit will focus on trade, defence and agriculture.

The delegation, which will visit Beijing, Jining and Shanghai before returning to Australia on Saturday, will also speak to the Australia China Chamber of Commerce and undertake a series of field visits relevant to individual portfolios.
