Truck may be able to track down vandals in targeted attack

PICTURES of a truck near the scene where a fleet of rescue boats was senselessly destroyed and life-saving equipment stolen at a NSW tourist hot spot could hold the key to tracking down the vandals.

Police have released CCTV footage captured at the Coffs Harbour marina on the night of November 24 when four government-owned rescue boats were left unusable.

In a targeted attack, two inflatable were slashed and deflated while the hydraulic steering system, depth sounder and transducer engine was damaged on a marine rescue boat and the NSW Police boat's hook, bilge pump and fuel tank filler cover were stolen.

The truck at the centre of the investigation an Isuzu NRP 200.

Anyone with information can phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
