Gifts up in smoke in truck fire

AN AUSTRALIA Post truck carrying Christmas gifts and cards burned out on the Pacific Hwy north of Ocean Shores this morning.

The dual-trailer truck was first reported alight at about 6.30am and contained within the hour.

A NSW Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said five fire fighting vehicles and 10 rural fire brigade volunteers attended the scene.

No injuries were reported,

The Pacific Hwy's north lane was closed but is re-opened now and the truck was destroyed.

Tweed police have not been able to respond to the Daily News yet.
