Tropical Fruits unleash superpowers
LISMORE Mayor Jenny Dowell declared the 2015 Tropical Fruits New Year's Eve Festival officially open today among a crowd of hundreds.
The traditional Tropical Fruits Parade departed the Winsome Hotel across Lismore CBD offering fun, colour and frivolity ahead of the New Year's Tropical Fruits Party.
Mayor Dowell welcomed all visitor and officially declared them 'honorary Lismorons."
The parade ended at the Lismore City Hall just after 5pm when the Gay Soiree started, with music, drinks and a welcome to country by Bundjalung gender illusionist Destiny Haz Arrived.
The evening of activities will end with American Hollywood actor and singer Alan Cumming performing his hit show Sing Sappy Songs on Lismore tonight from 8pm and tomorrow at the same time, at Lismore City Hall.
On Wednesday, former Lennox Head resident and cabaret artist Glitta Supernova will perform her show Let's Get MetaPHYSICAL at the Byron Bay Theatre from 8pm.
The Tropical Fruits Party will be held at the Lismore Showgrounds on New Year's Eve, plus the traditional Pool Party at Lismore Memorial Baths on January 1, followed by the official Recovery Party at the Showgrounds.
