Tributes paid to murdered grandma

HUNDREDS of mourners attended a memorial service this morning for Rockhampton murder victim Iris Temperley.

The traditional service at St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral on William Street was to remember the life of the 82-year-old great grandmother.

Mrs Temperley was born on March 2, 1927, at Springsure and was tragically taken on Australia Day this year.

Speakers included her grand-daughters Donna, Kelly and Jodie, her son Alan and Member for Rockhampton Robert Schwarten, who was excused from parliament today for the service.
