Tributes flow for crash victims
TRIBUTES have flooded social networking sites for the four young friends killed in a fiery crash in country NSW on the weekend.
While police were reluctant to release names on Monday, word spread quickly around the close knit town of Cootamundra that locals Adam Schell, 24, Daniel Blackney, 17, and Tasha Summerfield, 21 were among the victims.
Another young man was also killed.
More than 1700 have joined the Facebook page dedicated to the memory of Ms Summerfield.
The young mum has been remembered as a strong woman who accomplished big things in her short life and was best known for her infectious smile.
One post read: "So many people woke up this morning and thought they had a nightmare, and come (sic) to the very harsh very cruel reality that it was in fact not a nightmare. All the messages of love are support are so amazing. It's beautiful to see so many people being supportive and comforting in such a horrible time. Gone but never ever forgotten. RIP Beautiful Tasha".
Another tribute page was created by Mr Schell's fiancé Lucy, who he was set to marry in February.
The car the four victims were travelling in was being driven down Hurley St when it spun out of control, hit a tree and exploded on impact in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Cootamundra Superintendent Peter Wanczura told reporters it was the worst accident he had ever seen and all officers who attended had been offered counselling.
