Trevor’s the stuff of golfing legend

LIKE a good wine, Trevor Petty, the envy of Woodenbong local golfers, just gets better with age.

At 80 he has already achieved two holes-in-one and has now won the Men's Foursomes Nett, partnered with Michael Conlon.

The talented pair was only one stroke from the championship result, outplayed on the day by Jonathan Hannant and Peter Taylor.

But not resting on his laurels, the following day, Trevor and golfing partner Nea Maloney won the 2014 Woodenbong Mixed Championships Golf Tournament.

This duo has now won this event five times, including three consecutive victories.

These annual events are held at the Woodenbong and District Golf Club, which is well known for its hospitality and scenery.

But of course it's also very proud that Trevor is one of its life members.
