Track to Brett's liking

TONY BRETT’S golden run at the Lismore greyhounds continued when he took out the Wayne Hall’s Concreting Sprinters Cup (420m) at Colemans Point on Tuesday night.

Brett, who won the Lismore Cup in November with Robo Raptor, was delighted to win another feature with Bogie Gem.

Bogie Gem ($8.10) tracked the early leader I’m The Man ($4.60) to the home turn and finished too strongly to win by a head. Grand Canyon ($3.60) was a length away third.

The time on a rain-affected track was a good 24.39 seconds.

Brett expressed surprise that he was the only Queenslander to enter the series as the $5000 winner’s purse was a big attraction.

Bogie Gem has been a good money spinner for owner Les Bein and trainer Brett.

The final win took her stake earnings to just under $26,000.

The Lismore Lions Club held a fund-raiser at the meeting for the local SES and a good crowd braved the rainy conditions.
