Tourist airlifted after injuring himself at Wadeville Falls
A MAN was flown to hospital after injuring himself trying to jump into water at the Wadeville Falls.
Posting on their Facebook page, officers from the Richmond Local Area Command said the 21-year-old French tourist yesterday had been swinging from a rope into the water but believed his foot had tangled in the rope, so did not let go.
The man swung back, hitting the rock wall before falling into the water.
The man was helped from the water by other people at the falls with cuts from the rope on his body and a large cut on his forehead.
It had been believed he broke his leg in the accident and an ambulance was called to carry him out of the area where he could be picked up by the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, which flew him to Lismore Base Hospital.
Police said the man's injuries were not life threatening.
