Tourism awards laud Byron, so there wotif.com!

AFTER being sunk by the South Coast in a recent battle of the beaches, the Northern Rivers bounced back to praise and accolades at the 2012 NSW Tourism Awards.

Four local tourist attractions and organisations, including Cape Byron State Conservation Area, Bluesfest, Byron Beach Cafe and the TAFE North Coast Institute's Tourism Events and Hospitality Section, won awards at a ceremony in Sydney on Thursday night.

It came after Northern Rivers beaches lost a wotif.com competition to South Coast beaches earlier this week.

The NSW Tourism Awards recognise "excellence and outstanding achievement" across 31 categories and winners will be entered as finalists in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, to be held in Hobart in February.

Is the wotif.com survey clearly flawed?
