SPORTS editor takes a look at some of the top performers from teams who missed out on semi-finals in Far North Coast LJ Hooker League cricket this season.

Andrew Lindsay,

Lennox Head

Missed the start of the season with a shoulder injury and only started bowling more overs towards the end of the summer.

He scored a final ball ton and finished 101 not out against Ballina and also scored a century against Pottsville.

Angus Callan,

Lennox Head

Hit a purple patch of form in the early rounds and showed plenty of skill hitting four consecutive half centuries.

Callan went a bit quiet before a final half century against Alstonville last month.

Sam Irvine,

Casino Cavaliers

Finished the competition with three consecutive half centuries and also scored 115 not out in a one-day game against Lennox Head.

Irvine scored the most runs for the Cavaliers with 677 in what could be his final year in the competition for some time.

Trent Bennett,

Casino Cavaliers

Solid at opening bat and scored runs most weeks including a match-winning 87 not out in an outright win against Lennox Head

Sam Adams,

Ballina Bears

Opened the bowling this year and finished the season with 30 wickets.

Adams had six and seven wicket hauls at the back end of the season and bowled 180 overs which was the most of any player in the competition

Justin Moore,

Ballina Bears

Did not play for NSW Country this year but was still one of the best batsmen in the competition scoring 507 runs.

Arren Laycock,

Pottsville

Scored two unbeaten centuries this season and was one of only four players to score more than one.

He backed up his first hundred with an unbeaten half century the following week.

Ryan McCloy,

Pottsville

Talented all-rounder and the second leading wicket taker behind Alstonville left arm quick Jason Caught.

McCloy also played well in the representative rounds for Northern Rivers and Tweed teams.

Semi-finals start Saturday.
