Byron florist's design features as cover pic on style guide

A STUNNING floral design from Byron Bay florist Julia Rose is featured on the front cover of a new digital style guide to wedding flowers.

Fleuresse has been launched by Tesselaar Flowers, a wholesale company which has more than 70 years of experience in the flower industry.

Tesselaar Flowers deals with most of the 3000 florists in Australia and over the past four years has tracked the hot trends in wedding flowers, including colour, style and season.

The style guide features what the editors describe as "Australia's rock star florists".

It has the best of the best ideas and images from Tesselaar's "top gun" wedding flower competition, which attracts more than 1000 entrants each year.

Byron Bay's Julia Rose is renowned for her artistic floral designs on fashion runways and avant-garde media campaigns in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and she was a top 10 finalist in the 2012, 2013 and 2014 competitions. She won second in the flowers to decorate category last year.

"I'm very proud to be awarded top 10 in all categories of the competition in the past three years, particularly with such an incredibly high standard of competition," she said.

"Golds and copper toned highlights are all the trend this year. And geometric shapes are running strong through to upcoming season's florals.

"Natural bouquets with soft movement and a gorgeous height variation are always at the top of the list. And installations! Stunning and amazing fresh floral installations.

"From traditional arbors adorned with flowers, through to suspended lashings of greenery hanging opulently from rafters and ceilings, large floral wall backdrops and feature pieces. My brides are always my main source of inspiration in creating individually tailored designs.

"But when working with flowers, nature is my number one influence. I love colour. It doesn't matter what colour, if mixed well, can create stunning visual impact to stir deep emotion."
