Flicks in the Sticks
CASINO Community Garden will transform into a open-air cinema and hold lots of family-friendly activities this Saturday for Flicks in the Sticks.
There will be a whole swag of activities for kids, families, young adults and grown ups at the garden from 4pm until late.
The movie screening will be the hit PG-rated animation Inside Out, so bring a picnic blanket, some cushions or a chair and some warm clothes.
To keep the kids entertained, there will be a petting zoo, a jumping castle, face-painting artists and an Easter egg hunt, plus live local music and a silent disco.
Gold coin donation requested.
The Swamp Stompers
THE Swamp Stompers play funky rock and blues with heavy grooves.
The Lismore band sounds like the musical lovechild of John Butler Trio, Led Zeppelin and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The band is renowned for high-energy live shows, with punters left in awe by the raw power and finesse displayed by this seemingly unstoppable guitar riff-driven beast.
Free, at Byron Brewery tomorrow from 7pm.
Tigertown a family affair
A FAMILY, a band, all together now, Sydney's Tigertown share a special familiar bond.
At the band's core lies husband-wife duo Chris (guitar) and Charlie Collins (lead vocals and synth), rounded out by the former's brother Alexi (keys) and sister Elodie (bass).
Their brand new Lonely Cities EP features single, Bullet From The Gun and the title track, Lonely Cities.
At the Beach Hotel tomorrow, from 9pm.
Quintet's soulful sounds
KRISTY Turner will explore the intricate nuances of soul and funk with her quintet, The Essential Collective.
Delivering her velvet vocals against the backdrop of a talented ensemble, this evening is laced with soulful sounds and simmering sets.
Other members are Luke Stapleton (guitar), Ben Ryan (keys), Angus Graham (bass) and Lachlan Dwyer (drums).

Battle of the Bands
HEAT one of the Battle of the Bands goes ahead this weekend with bands from across the region, such as Tide from Uki (pictured).
