Toowoomba woman doing seven marathons in seven days

KERRIAN Sawyer is set to achieve an almost unthinkable feat - and all in the name of a good cause.

The Toowoomba grandmother will be running seven marathons in as many days across seven states to raise money for Bravehearts, which educates and protects children from sexual assault.

Mrs Sawyer said the incredible challenge, which she will start from June 26, was a personal journey for her.

"My family has been affected by child sexual assault," she said.

"Tackling the 777 seems like a way I could contribute and make a positive change in the lives of children across Australia."

Mrs Sawyer is one of 46 other participants taking part in the 777 by running marathons in Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart, Canberra, Kingscliff and the Gold Coast.

The participants will be mentored by coach Shane Smith.

To support Kerrian to reach her goal of $10,000, donate online.
