Tintenbar man's plan to turn your living room into a stage

TINTENBAR'S Peter Lino wants to turn your living room into a stage.

Mr Lino has launched Home Made Jam in a bid to transform private spaces into performance venues.

Mr Lino has for the last three years been part of Tintenbar Upfront, a monthly artistic space at the Tintenbar Hall.

We spoke to Mr Lino about his latest project.

How does Home Made Jam work?

Home Made Jam is a directory of listing pages. Each page contains information, photos, video, Soundcloud players, links to other online pages and contact details to showcase the artist, host or group making the listing. People can find musicians and other artists for concerts in their home, local hall or venue as well as for weddings, parties and functions.

Musicians can find hosts for concerts and tours (homes, halls and venues). Make a listing page as a musician or concert host, then people can explore your page and contact you.

What is the biggest hurdle for it to succeed and how are you tackling the obstacles?

Finding hosts for shows. People interested in music who want to experience it up close and are willing to open their own home or hold it in a local hall.

What would you like the project to grow into in five years?

I'd like it to extend Australia and New Zealand-wide, but most of all I'd like live music to be more integral to people's everyday lives, not something that is packaged and sold but is organic and human. Music brings people together.

How to...

Get started: Visit homemadejam.net.au

Become a host for concerts in your home: If you've never thought about it, but are intrigued, visit homemadejam.net.au/who-me/

Make it work for you: If you are a musician, poet, storyteller or comedian, create a page on Home Made Jam so people can find you.
