Time warp hits town
GET out your feather boas, wigs and fishnets, because your favourite Transylvanians are hitting the town!
Tomorrow night the touring show Time Warp: A Musical Tribute to the Rocky Horror Show hits the Lismore Workers Club with all its fabulousness and tickets are selling fast, said the club's marketing and media manager, Ted Hoddinott.
The musical show, from Time Warp Productions, revolves around everyone's favourite songs from the show, taking the basic storyline of the cult classic, and twisting it around to keep within the tribute laws, turning up the sexy content with ad-lib comedy and audience participation.
Since 2008, Time Warp has toured Australia and New Zealand to sell-out capacity houses in all kinds of venues, delighting audiences with hits such as Time Warp, Toucha Toucha, and Sweet Transvestite.
The company of performers has performed it regionally and internationally including all state capitals and Auckland with its cast of professional performers.
"This is a re-creation that is touring around Australia and Lismore Workers is very happy to host the performance," Mr Hoddinott said.
"I saw the Rocky Horror Show in London in 1979 and I have such fond memories of that performance."
He said audience members aren't just allowed to dress up, they're encouraged to!
"The cast love people getting dressed up and singing. It's just a fun, let your hair down kind of night," he said.
"Come along as your favourite Transylvanian with or without fishnets! Be as outrageous as you feel comfortable!"
