Time to grab the miniskirt and find your 1960s groove
CHANNEL your inner 60s hippie for a fundraiser that will have real groove - Bangalow A Go-Go.
The adults-only event, for Bangalow Community Children's Centre, will kick off with a special opening number by Tanya Bilaniwskyj from Byron Bay's Circus Arts.
"She is a whiz on the hula hoop so it will be a hula hoop dance number," says Viv Fantin, who is helping with the fundraiser.
"There will also be a special 60s' dance performance by the senior contemporary dancers from local Bangalow dance company Dance Lab."
Other entertainment on the night will be courtesy of DJ Sally Sound who is coming out of retirement "to spin the platters that matter".
"So hop in the love bug and jump back in time to beehive up-dos and where everything was just fab," says Fantin, who adds that the centre is famous for putting on the Bangalow party of the year.
"We can sell up to 200 tickets but there are only about 100 tickets left and we usually sell out."
There will be a live auction on the night with artwork, tickets to the sold out Falls Festival and a skydive courtesy of Skydive Byron Bay.
A silent auction will feature prizes from Saltys Short Supply, Our Corner Store, Cross Fit Byron Bay, Dance Lab, Bun Coffee and many more.
Tickets for the GO-GO night are $35 and on sale now from http://www.bangalowbowlo.com.au or Bangalow Community Children's Centre, 6687 1552.
All monies raised through the event will be put towards the building of an outdoor undercover area for the four to five-year-old children at the centre.
