Time for the Byron Arts Classic

ENTRIES have opened for the Byron Arts Classic, which aims to act as a showcase for the region's artists and artisians.

The classic will fill the Byron Bay Community Centre with 340 art pieces for members of the community and tourists to enjoy.

Entry forms for people wanting to enter a piece in the classic are available at the community centre and on its website, www.byroncentre.com.au.

Organisers are also calling on artists and members of the community to help them find materials for a large fabric installation being set up as part of the exhibition.

Organisers say they need diaphanous material in light colours - chiffons, silks, organza's, voiles, and similar materials.

Beige or ivory colours would be ideal, but pastels will also be good.

Anyone able to help by donating fabrics can deliver them to Tess at the centre.

The community centre is also looking for volunteers to help run the Arts Classic.

A meeting for volunteers will be held at the centre at 5.30pm, Wednesday, December 7.
