Tigers and shock therapy on offer

KIDS had plenty to do these school holidays with the opening of new attractions at two Gold Coast theme parks.

Movie World has re-modelled its 17-year-old Lethal Weapon rollercoaster and launched it as Arkham Asylum - Shock Therapy with the face of Gotham's criminal The Joker.

The ride reaches speeds of 85km, with more than 4.2Gs.

Village Roadshow Theme Parks chief executive officer Tim Fisher said: "Arkham Asylum's victims will be begging for mercy as they take on this insane new ride experience, featuring five gut-wrenching inversions and sophisticated on board audio.

"Only the bravest of riders will enter the Asylum to face one of the most demented criminal minds on the planet, The Joker, as he attempts to infect all of Gotham City with dangerous monsters," Mr Fisher added.

Meanwhile, over at Dreamworld, the park has welcomed two four-week old Bengal tiger cubs.

Dreamworld's new family members have been on public display since last Wednesday and will hopefully be ready to begin encounters in coming weeks.
