Tiger roars back to the top

THE wait is finally over.

Tiger Woods has broken a two-year drought and returned to the winner's circle after a final round 69 helped him claim the Chevron World Challenge in California.

Not since Woods' victory in the 2009 Australian Masters has the former world number one tasted the sweet taste of a 72-hole success.

However, victory at the Kingston Heath golf course also coincided with Woods' slip into infamy, with revelations of extra-marital affairs surfacing after Woods crashed his car soon after the tournament.

Woods then suffered not only the break-down of his marriage to Elin Nordegren, but had to contend with injury, swing changes, loss of form and a massive slide down golf's pecking order.

But with victory in the Chevron Challenge, coupled with his form in the Presidents Cup, Woods finally found something he has been missing for the past two years.

"It feels awesome, whatever it is," Woods said.
