Three-week-old airlifted to hospital

THE RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter is currently en route to Lismore Hospital to airlift a three-week-old baby girl suffering a chest infection.

RACQ CareFlight Air Crewman Ben Trollope said the girl was born prematurely.

“The girl also has a twin brother who both suffered chest infections as complications from their early arrival,” he said.

“The boy was airlifted to Mater Children’s Hospital on Thursday by another helicopter service.

“We were called in to airlift the girl back to the Mater to join her brother. We picked up a pediatric team from the Mater to take with us to treat the girl.

“She is currently in a stable condition,” he said.
