Three seriously injured in head on collision

THREE people are in a serious condition following a head on collision west of Chinchilla on Sunday afternoon.

Police said a sedan and ute were travelling in opposite directions, when they collided just near the Engine Road turn off on the Warrego Highway.

The men, aged in their thirties, were airlifted to Chinchilla hospital for further treatment.

It is not yet known what has caused the crash and the severity of the injuries are not yet known to police.

Sergeant officer-in-charge Gerard Brady said this is a timely reminder for drivers to be vigilant on our roads.

"This the second serious car accident in our area this week," Sgt Brady said.

"It's a good reminder that lives can change in a split second on our roads."

In a separate incident, three men were seriously injured in a collision between a car and a truck on Friday afternoon.
