Three charged with wire thefts

THREE Grafton men, aged 22, 27 and 30, will appear in court next month charged with the theft of a large amount of copper wire from railway property at Junction Hill near Grafton between July 10 and 12.

On Monday, police stopped a Toyota Hilux on the Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour.

During a search of the ute, police allegedly uncovered hundreds of kilograms of copper wire while an amount of cash was also located inside the vehicle.

Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.
