Three charged over alleged Tweed break-ins

POLICE have charged three people in relation to multiple alleged thefts, break and enter and property offences on the Tweed.

The arrests were made after Tweed/Byron Local Area Command officers alleged a business was broken into and four vehicles stolen from Ourimbah Rd, Tweed Heads on Monday.

Officers attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.

They then executed a search warrant at a Tweed Heads home, where one of the allegedly stolen vehicles was found at about 3.30pm yesterday.

A woman, 33, a man, 20, and a 17-year-old girl were arrested and taken to Tweed Heads police station.

The man was charged with two counts of taking and driving a conveyance without the consent of the owner, destroying or damaging property, aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence in company.

The woman was charged with aggravated break and enter, committing a serious indictable offence in company and taking and driving a conveyance without the consent of the owner.

The teen was charged with taking and driving a conveyance without the consent of the owner, and another unrelated offence.

The trio were due to face Byron Bay Local Court today.

Investigations into the incident are continuing and anyone with information has been urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
