SWIMMERS from Byron to Woodburn and out to Kyogle converged on Alstonville for the 2013 Richmond Zone primary schools swimming carnival.

St Joseph's Primary School, Coraki teacher, John Gordon said that "it was, as usual, a very smoothly run carnival".

"I was impressed with the behaviour and efforts of everyone there; I enjoyed myself and I believe that the enthusiastic students did too," he said.

"We couldn't escape the rain but overall, it really was a great carnival."
