Takeover Target back in the win

THE Takeover Target connection was back in the winners’ stall at Grafton yesterday with former Gai Waterhouse-trained Kremlin successful in the opening race.

Trainer Joe Janiak purchased the four-year-old through a mutual contact.

Leunig, owned and bred by Kerry Tibby, outstayed favourite Go Gerry to score by a length. Local Klochkova was third.

And Danny Nickolic took Sir Lago to win over Universal Sound and Handsome Dane.

Nickolic has been shrouded in controversy and numerous stewards inquires in recent months.
