The rise, fall and rise again of Lismore Heights Bowls Club

SUPPORTERS of the Lismore Heights Bowling Club fought hard to save the club from closure in 2013.

Members and supporters held fundraisers to keep the ailing club open after it split from the Lismore Workers Club.

Forty years earlier, the community had rallied to see the club built.

The first recorded game of bowls in Australia was at the back of the Beach Tavern in Sandy Bay, 1845.
