Temperatures are set to soar across Northern Rivers

IT'S about to get a whole lot hotter on the Northern Rivers this week.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting temperatures from Wednesday to reach into the high 30s with Friday even possibly reaching the 40 degree mark.

The bureau does not expect rain or storms until the weekend.

People are reminded to take precautions against direct sun and high temperatures by wearing a hat outside, keeping fluids up and staying in shade where possible.

Pets need to be looked after as well.

Make sure their water bowls are full and there is plenty of shade for them.
