Teenager in custody after hold-up
A TEENAGE boy is in police custody after holding up a supermarket on the NSW far north coast Thursday afternoon for cash and cigarettes.
Police said the 16-year-old was armed with knives when he entered the store in Murwillumbah around 6pm and threatened a female worker, demanding money.
The woman was not physically injured and the boy left with his stash.
A police investigation led to the boy's arrest Saturday: he was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and possession of a prohibited drug.
He appeared at a children's court where he was refused bail.
Police have been contacted for further information.
