Teen refused bail over aggravated break and enter

A WOLLONGBAR teenage boy has been arrested and charged with assault within the Casino township.

About 3.45am on Saturday, a 54-year-old woman was asleep in her home on Hotham Street, Casino, when a 16-year-old boy allegedly forced entry and assaulted her.

Officers from Richmond Local Area Command rushed to the scene and launched an investigation into the alleged assault.

Following inquiries, about 3.45pm on Tuesday, police arrested a 16-year-old youth was arrested at a home in Alstonville.

He was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-deprive liberty.

The youth was refused bail to appear at a children's court today.

Inquiries are continuing.
