Teen arrested over armed robbery

POLICE have arrested a 14-year-old Casino youth last night after an alleged armed robbery in Casino last Thursday night.

Police will allege the incident occurred at 7.35pm at Cumberland Crescent, Casino, where two elderly residents were confronted by a group of youth at their house. The teen allegedly had a replican handgun in his possession and stole from the couple.

The teen has been charged with attempted aggravated break and enter with intent to commit serious indictable offence, while armed with an offensive weapon; assault; robbery while armed with an offensive weapon; and use of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The teen has been released on conditional bail to appear at Casino Children’s Court on August 4.

Police investigations are continuing and further arrests are imminent.
