Teen charged over alleged robbery and assault at Casino

A TEENAGER has charged over the alleged serious assault and robbery of a 14-year-old boy at Casino in October.

It is alleged about 10.45pm on October 31, a 14-year-old boy was walking along Walker Street at Casino when he was approached by two men near the intersection of Barker Street.

One of the men allegedly punched the teenager in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

The pair demanded money, before the second man allegedly took the boy's backpack and kicked him in the face.

The men left in a black four-wheel drive being driven by a third man.

The four-wheel drive was reported stolen from Queensland five days earlier.

Police from Richmond Local Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries.

The 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital and underwent surgery to his nose.

Following an investigation, Casino detectives with assistance from Queensland Police searched a home in Slacks Creek, near Brisbane.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to Logan Police Station.

He was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for robbery in company, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and fraud.

He will appear at a children's court on January 20, 2016.
