Teams out to minimise their errors

WORKERS Buzzards and Goonellabah Meteors will meet tonight for the first time in Far North Coast open mixed softball.

Both sides are strong with the bat, so the team that can get the runs on the board and minimise errors will get the points.

Meteors’ Mark and Jono Grace along with Buzzards’ Chris Daley and Mitch Dowse are key players.

In the Under-18s at 6.30pm, Workers Mighty Ducks and Dodgers Colts will play off.

Sitting first and second, this will be a preview for the semi-finals.

Ducks have been consistent with Carlie Walker and Sam Green’s battery keeping the batters at bay.

Expect big efforts from Colts’ Emily Ross, James Baxter and Andrew Kelly in what should be a close game.

In the Under-15s at 5pm, Dodgers Lakers and Braves are neck and neck and look to have easier games tonight but Workers Crows’ clash with Goonellabah Wildcats should be close.

In the Under-13s at 6.30pm, Dodgers Mustang should have the edge over Byron Supersox, while Goonellabah Cheetahs and Byron Hotsox look evenly matched.

There is an umpiring clinic tomorrow from 8.30am to 12 noon.
