Swimming: Summerland Racing takes out a haul of medals

NEW Lismore swim team Summerland Racing has made an impact in its first season on the Far North Coast.

They took out the latest FNC swimming carnival held at Alstonville at the weekend.

Summerland finished with a swag of medals -21 gold, 21 silver and 13 bronze - from the 23 swimmers who competed.

Madeline Ewing fared the best with six gold and one silver in the Under-10 girls.

Mary Gellatly also had a memorable afternoon winning two gold, four silver and two bronze in the Under-9 girls.

Summerland also finished third at the Mullumbimby carnival last month.

Coach Jenny Pilgrim said she was proud of the efforts of all swimmers in the team.
