Taylor Swift shocked by streaming success

TAYLOR Swift "never expected" anything to happen when she spoke out about Apple Music.

The 'Shake It Off' hitmaker persuaded the company to change their stance after she wrote an open letter criticising their decision not to pay artists' royalties for streams played while users were on a trial period.

She told Q magazine: "I had no idea what would happen but I just wanted to say something.

"I didn't really expect anything to happen at all."

Following the publication of Taylor's letter last month, Eddy Cue, the Senior Vice-President of Internet Software and Services at Apple, vowed the company would change its policy.

He tweeted: "#AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer's free trial period.
