Taxi robbery arrest

POLICE arrested a teenager who was already on bail for other offences last night in relation to the robbery of a taxi driver at Casino last Saturday.

At about 3.45pm police said a taxi driver was allegedly attached by two youths who stole his wallet and mobile phone.

The men then fled the scene on foot and police from the Richmond Local Area Command were called by the taxi driver.

Last night investigating officers arrested a 17-year-old man at a Casino home.

He was charged with robbery in company and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Lismore Children's Court today.

Police said they are continuing their enquiries into his alleged co-offender.
