Tautai moves on from Eels to join English league team
PARRAMATTA forward Taulima Tautai has not played a game this year under new coach Ricky Stuart - that will not change after the club yesterday granted him a release to join the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in the English Super League.
The 25-year-old played 30 games for the Eels in 2008-09, before switching to Cronulla where he notched up a further 33 games in two seasons.
The former Cabra-Vale Diggers Cobras junior then returned to Parramatta at the start of last season, playing nine games and scoring one try.
"This is a great opportunity for Taulima to test himself in a new competition," Eels CEO Ken Edwards said.
"He has been a great servant to this club and we wish him all the best for his next challenge."
Meanwhile, Hull KR prop Mickey Paea said he was considering a return to the NRL at the end of this season.
Paea is a former Roosters, Dragons and Bulldogs player.
His contract ends this year, and the Rovers have reportedly offered him a new two-year deal.
But the 27-year-old said talking to fellow Tongan international Sam Moa had convinced him to consider returning to Australia.
