Taking a walk is a no brainer

TAKE a walk along the beach on November 15 and raise money for the Cure for Brain Cancer Foundation.

The 21km walk will start at Lennox Head Library at 6am and go through Seven Mile Beach, Broken Head Beach and Tallows Beach before ending at Byron Bay Library.

Event organiser David Greiner is hoping to raise $10,000.

Great community event

"This is a picturesque walk along our beautiful beaches to raise awareness and funds for Brain Cancer," he said.

"It's very close to my heart as I lost my wife of 30 years to this disease in January."

Lennox Head Lions Club will be helping out at the event to ensure the walk goes ahead as planned.

Club secretary Bill Farrow said he hopes to see the walk become an annual event.

"He wanted to get an annual event going to remember his wife and other brain cancer victims, and we thought it was an excellent charity," he said.

"We're happy to support it on an ongoing basis ... it would be sometime around late October and early November each year."
