Tabulam gallops are on this weekend

THE beer has been ordered, the cool room is on and the kids' entertainment has been organised.

The only thing now is for people to turn up to one of the best horse races in the area - the Tabulam Racing Club's annual race day.

It's on this Saturday at Racecourse Rd, Tabulam.

If you want to stretch your horse betting legs after the Melbourne Cup, then this is the place to be.

Gates open at 9am and the first race will be happening at 1pm.

The bookies will be there, as well as TAB facilities.

FUNCARS4KIDS will be at the races to entertain the bigger kids and teenagers, thanks to the generosity of the Dog 'n' Bull Hotel at Bonalbo.

Byron Bay Kids Club will be there for the younger kids with face painting, kids activities and a jumping castle.

The Best Dressed Couple at the races will receive a night of luxury at the Ramada Hotel and Suites in Ballina.

There will also be competitions for the best dressed woman, best dressed man and best dressed child.

Prizes include a $250 gift pack from Arum in Casino and a $250 gift pack from Jays Jewels in Kyogle.

A day of horse racing can be a hungry business so there will be three food outlets to choose from.

With a weather prediction of a fine and sunny day, patrons are urged to bring their own shade or gazebo.

For those concerned about drinking and driving, there is still plenty of camping with hot showers available.

Entry is $15 for adults, $10 for concession/student and kids under 14 are free.
