Sydney trainer grabs the cash at Queen Elizabeth Park
LEADING Sydney greyhound trainer Anthony Azzopardi has taken out the Charcoal Inn Casino Cup (484m) at Queen Elizabeth Park.
The Group 3 race on Friday evening was worth $25,000 to the winner.
Jack Kade ($2.60 favour-ite) did the job for Azzopardi, scoring his third win at the Casino track.
From his favoured box eight, Jack Kade jumped clear and led by the first corner.
Down the back he took off from rest of the field to lead by at least four lengths heading towards the winning post.
Pikelet ($13.10) loomed as a definite threat but Jack Kade hung on to win by three-quarters of a length with Waikarie Magic ($19.60) another 2¾ lengths back in third place.
Tregeagle trainer Pat Lavis' hope Mincin' Machine ($3.40) finished a disappointing seventh.
Lismore's weekly meeting is tomorrow night and Casino will race again on Friday.
