Sydney dominates softball champs

IT wasn't a great start for the North Coast team in the NSW Combined High Schools boys softball championship in Lismore.

In games at Albert Park yesterday, North Coast lost 8-0 to Sydney South-West, defeated the Convenor's Team 9-4, lost 10-0 to Sydney West and drew 7-all with Hunter.

Sydney South-West and Sydney West went through the first day of the two-day carnival undefeated, winning all four games.

Teams will play three more round-robin games today, with the 12.10pm clash of the two leading Sydney regions likely to decide the champions.

North Coast's games today are against Western, Sydney North and Sydney East.

There will be a Possibles v Probables fixture at 1.45pm to help with State team selection, followed by the presentation at 2.45pm.
