Swans need the ball first

THE Lismore Swans will pin their hopes on Dean Webb and Shawn Wadwell against the Tweed Coast Tigers in South-East Queensland Division 4 AFL at Barry Shepherd Field, Cabarita, today.

Tweed Coast have beaten the Swans by 21 points both times they have played this season.

"Our discipline and the way we've responded to Tweed's off-the-ball tactics have let us down," Lismore coach Steve Huckerby said.

"We need to get to the ball first to give ourselves the best chance.

"It will be a big ask for Dean and Shawn and we'll need Daniel Bruce, Scott Brown and Angus Legoe to chip in.

"We're optimistic about our chances in the finals and we'll keep working hard."

In the other game, Ballina host the Carrara Saints at Fripp Oval.

Both games start at 2pm.

On Wednesday night, Bond Uni beat the Byron Magpies 15.11 (101) to 9.8 (62) at Robina.

The game was brought forward because of the Splendour in the Grass music festival at Byron Bay this weekend.

LADDER

Tweed Coast 36 (game in hand), Bond University 34, Byron 30, Lismore 26 (two games in hand), Ballina 20 (game in hand), Carrara 14 (two games in hand).
