Suspected spinal injuries after quad bike rollover

THE Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter is at the scene where a man is suffering suspected spinal injuries after he rolled a quad bike on a property at South Ballina this morning.

A helicopter spokesman confirmed the aircraft was called to South Ballina where a quad bike had rolled while travelling about 30 km/h on a dirt road.

The male rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was complaining of serious upper spinal pain following the crash.

The spokesman said the patients injuries were assessed but were not as serious as first thought.

The man was taken by road ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
