Suspect of police pursuit believed to be near Tuncester

PERSONS near Rosehill Rd in Tuncester should be mindful of any suspicious activity in the area following a police pursuit last night.

At 1.35am police sighted a stolen motor vehicle on Naughtons Gap Rd, near Casino, and a pursuit began when the driver failed to stop.

Lismore police Chief Inspector Nicole Bruce said the pursuit lasted for 10 minutes, beginning at Naughtons Gap and ending at Tuncester.

"Road spikes were successfully deployed, however the vehicle continued to be driven on its rims," she said.

"Eventually the driver decamped into a property on Rosehill Rd."

Chf Insp Bruce said a break and enter that occured at 8.30am was likely related.

"We believe it's the same suspect who was still in the area," she said.

"We're asking locals to be mindful of any suspicious activity near Rosehill Rd.

"We have a suspect and we will be following it up."
