Surftag fourth earns $2000

A TOP-FOUR finish at the National Surftag Finals has stamped Lennox-Ballina Boardriders as the premier club on the Far North Coast.

Le-Ba fought off challenges from Noosa and Snapper Rocks board-riders to book a spot in the final which was won by North Narrabeen for the third time, at their home break.

North Narrabeen pocketed $13,000 for the win while Le-Ba brought home $2000.

Byron Bay boardshapers, Emery Surfboards, took out the Manufacturers Cup by defeating Stacey Surfboards in the final.

The Manufacturers Cup teams are made up of two team riders and two employees of the company.

Team captain and board shaper Al Emery was well served by his all-star team which includes Adam Melling and Stu Kennedy of Lennox Head.

“The waves were really fun for the final and my team was really psyched to get out there,” Emery said.

Pumped to be named manufacturers champion, Emery is looking forward to his team performing again.

“We had such a fun time and the atmosphere was great. Can’t wait till next year.”
