Sunshine and Stormy Days

long hot languid days
stretching on with sunshine rays
this way and that she peers and see’s
watching and watching under the cool breeze
one by one the kids run by
oblivious to the darkening sky
grey clouds cover the suns bright light
as dark as a cold winters night
faster and faster the wind blows cold
twisting and turning uncontrolled
a few metres away a kites been left
i wonder if they’ve forgotten about theft
the rain has started cool and relentless
people running, wet and defenceless
birds are screeching in the sky
raining so hard they can barely fly
grey and miss, the days become
all the people sad and glum
