Students dress-up to help other schools

WYRALLAH RD Public School students have risen to help their peers across NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Teachers, Craig Beck and Adam Condon collaborated to hold the fundraising event, much to the delight of the students.

"In the great tradition of the school responding to natural disasters both in Australia and abroad, we decided on today's fundraiser," Mr Beck said.

"This is up there with Hats for Haiti, and Pants for Pakistan, two very successful fundraisers that we've held here.

"Fire represented the terrible bushfires burning across NSW and Victoria, while Water represented the devastating floods of Queensland and northern NSW.

"Students were enthusiastic to help and donated a gold coin for the privilege of coming dressed in theme.

"It was a wonderful turnout by a vast majority of our students.

"They raised around $500 and those funds will be evenly distributed between affected schools the three states."

Mr Beck has asked schools across the region to do similar to help their counterparts in those states.
